I have been blessed with a family who has always been supportive, whose emphasis has been on education and in giving back to society especially to those who are less fortunate.
I was born on the 12th of March 1984 into a family whose dad was a Pastor in Galilee B-P Church, Singapore and mum a full-time housewife. Dad and mum had decided that it would be right for mum to quit her job as a nurse to take care of the children. On the 23rd of July 1985, the Ong family was further blessed with another son, Josiah Ong. Mother would then return to the work force as a teacher six years after the birth of my brother.
Since young, my brother and I have been taught the fundamental truths of life. Through our involvement in groups and their roles as leaders in different societies and communities, the children have learnt to be a part of groups and how we ought to give back to the society especially to those who are less privileged.

It is primarily because of my upbringing that my interests and directions in life have become almost instantly based upon and around:
1) Education
2) Community
3) Leadership
4) Human Rights
These interests which are the pillars of my life goals, all evolve around humans and therefore it was quite an easy decision for me to embark on my degree program specializing in Psychology. Even as I made plans as to which university I wanted to enroll in, I had already planned out learning outcomes that I had wanted to achieve through my course of study.2) Community
3) Leadership
4) Human Rights

This can be seen in my desire to wanting to be actively involved, learning to become a people helper. As such, I have been constantly upgrading myself for this role as shown in my Resume (click to open)
