Chapter 4 - Academics #1

I had shared previously that even before commencement of studies in ECU, i had already planned and come up with learning outcomes i wanted to achieve. Upon reflection and comparison to ECU's graduate attributes, i had subsequently analyze both ECU's attributes and my learning outcomes and how these may relate one to another.

This can be seen here.

Academically, i desired to from my studies in Edith Cowan University to be able to:

— have an increased knowledge of the different concepts of the human personality and things pertaining to it such as; development, cognition, group dynamics, research methods and individual differences

— have a more refine understanding of the current issues and struggles of the society especially that with regards to Youth issues experienced in both Australia and Singapore

Slowly but surely, i have been able to do these.

The first goal I had for myself was to have increase knowledge of the different concepts of the human personality and things pertaining to it such as; development, cognition, group dynamics and individual differences.

Through my course of study in the past three years, I have been able to do these relatively well by attaining these results:

I do realize that my results could be better and in fact, it may not really exhibit my understanding of each of these important modules.

For example; for Research Methods 2, I was only able to attain a low 65%. However, my lecturer for that unit, Dr Andrew Guilfoyle was pleased to inform me that I had attained a score of 41/46 for the Short-answer and essay components of the final examination. This achievement by me resulted in Dr Andrew wanting and willing to write a referee report, where he had shared and pen down of my strengths and capabilities.

This can be evidently shown in theses document. 1 2
